Homer Laughlin 'Rosewood' Happy Bluebird Pendant Necklace

This beautiful vintage china pendant was created from a fabulous antique 'Rosewood' plate produced by Homer Laughlin starting in 1920 - 1943 (which explains the extensive crazing throughout the plate!). I stumbled upon this plate in a local thrift store & immediately fell in love with those gorgeous birds ~ I only wish they had more than one! For this pendant, I captured one of those happy birds for you to enjoy! :)
The design for this pendant was chosen from the plate, carefully cut out with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is added to the edges to seal & further protect the vintage china piece.
The large round setting/bezel is silver plated & measures 1 1/2" long, 1 1/2" wide & 1/4" deep.
The necklace I am offering to wear this piece is a 16" stainless steel ball chain with lobster closure + 3" extender chain.
*Each JBD piece comes with a 'Story Card' that tells a little about the Vintage China Pattern that was used in the piece purchased! :)
