These totally fabulous antiqued silver/sterling silver earrings were created from a lusterware porcelain teacup & saucer set from Arnart Creations. The specific backstamp is a common back stamp used by Arnart on items imported from Japan. The company imported goods, primarily via their New York office, from Japan starting in the 1950s. These items are typically dated to the 1950s until 1970s, as the "Original Arnart Creation" trademark was registered in 1953. I love the iridescent-ness of lusterware as it changes color as it moves ~ and this lovely white definitely does not disappoint! The gilded gold drawings of flowers & scrolls only enhance the gorgeousness!

The design for these earrings was chosen from the saucer, cut out carefully with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is applied to the edges to seal & further protect the vintage china pieces.

I have lovingly placed the porcelain pieces into lovely round hammered antiqued silver over brass bezels that measure 3/4" in diameter. With the 925 sterling silver french hooks, they hang around 1 3/4" long.

*Each JBD piece comes with a 'Story Card' that tells a little about the Vintage China Pattern that was used in the piece purchased! :)
