This beautiful Vintage China pendant was created from a gorgeous saucer in the pattern, 'MIB2' by Mitsu-Boshi. This stunning pattern features a hand-painted blue & yellow bird in a cherry blossom branch with raised enamel details (known as moriage) with gold accents & trim ~ all displayed beautifully on an indigo blue background. The manufacturer, Mitsu-Boshi, which means 'Three Stars', produced porcelain ware for export from the early-to-mid 20th century (e.g., 1930s-1940s). The best neighbor on the planet gifted me with this cup & saucer ~ I am so happy with how these turned out ~ I will definitely be on the lookout for more!
The design for the pendant was chosen from the saucer, nipped/cut out with ceramic tile nippers, then smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is added to the edges to seal & protect the vintage porcelain piece.
I have lovingly placed the lovely porcelain piece into a gold filled rounded rectangle setting that measures 1 1/8" long, 11/16" wide.
The necklace I am providing to wear this stunning pendant is a 16" pink seed (glass) bead necklace with lobster clasp + a 2" gold extender chain.
*Aside from the necklace option provided, you also could hang it from most any necklace you have in your jewelry box...
**Each JBD piece comes with a 'Story Card' that tells a little about the Vintage China Pattern that was used in the piece purchased! :)
