This uniquely fabulous & very mid-century vibing vintage china adjustable ring was created from a totally fabulous eggshell china pattern called "Persian Garden" by Homer Laughlin that has long been discontinued. "Persian Garden" was produced in the mid-1950s & it is highly recognizable for its distinctive mid-century Pennsylvania Dutch or folk-art style central decal showing two symmetrical brown birds flanking a stylized flower pot, framed by a wide teal/turquoise rim band with fine gold trim. Now you, too, can own a beautiful piece of history transformed into lovely wearable art!
What attracted me to this Persian Garden (I've seen it called Birds off Paradise as well) pattern is all the vibrant colors, the fantastic Mid Century vibe it throws off, the super cool flowers, but those birds had me at "Hello"! ~ I just love it & hope that you do, too!
The design for this ring was chosen from the plate, cut out carefully with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is applied to the edges to seal & further protect the vintage china piece.
I have lovingly placed the porcelain piece into a rectangle shaped hammered antiqued silver over brass adjustable ring bezel. The setting measures just under 1" in length x 1/2" wide & it is adjustable to fit most any finger you might like to adorn with it!
