Arta Imari Cherry Blossom Pierced Earrings

These fabulous antiqued silver pierced earrings were created from a vintage Arta Imari fine porcelain decorative plate, featuring a hand-painted style illustration of birds resting on white flowering cherry blossom branches against a vibrant yellow background. These collectible Japanese porcelain pieces were sold in a set of 4 & are highly sought after for wall decor & display. This Arta Imari decorative plate was produced during the mid-to-late 20th century, most likely during the 1960s to 1980s. For these eye-catching earrings, I nipped out some of those gorgeous cherry blossoms for you to enjoy!
The design for these earrings was chosen from the plate, cut out carefully with ceramic tile nippers, smoothed out to size & shape with my handy dandy grinder, then (white) grout is applied to the edges to seal & further protect the vintage china pendant.
I have lovingly placed the porcelain pieces into triangular setting/bezels that are antique silver plated brass & measures 5/8" x 5/8" & the earring part is hinged earwire.
*Each JBD piece comes with a 'Story Card' that tells a little about the Vintage China Pattern that was used in the piece purchased! :)
